Time Dilation

There we were on the banks of the Ganges , taking in the breathtaking beauty and magnificence of the river when I first noticed it. At first it came as a shock and it took a while for me to recover my speech.

Albert drew closer to the lady in red and whispered in her ear "Has someone told you, that you look amazingly beautiful". The lady blushed and answered "I have to leave. Its already 11PM".
"Please just one more dance. You see, Its not my fault that you are late. The universe is conspiring against us"

I couldn't believe my eyes. My watch, a gift from my sister, was ticking at an unusual pace. I shook it in the hope that it would return to its normal pace but all was in vain. It was then that Viresh and Kartik started rambling that both their watches were ticking unusually fast. "Three watches in a row, what a coincidence" I thought, just when it dawned upon at the same time.

"So what do you do?" She asked.
"I go to parties" He answered with a wink.
"No I mean for a living"
"Ohh, I am a small-time scientist."

"Dude, Is this really happening?" asked Kartik
"Yup" Viresh replied back, by now visibly excited
"What can be the cause of this apparent crack in time-space continuum?"
"Who the hell knows, maybe its due to all this beauty we are surrounded by right now. You guys know that time moves faster when we are with a beautiful person. Well it just got generalized to nature too." said the know-it-all Viresh

"Wow a scientist. I am so into scientists. But something has been bugging me for a while now. When you said it was not your fault what did you mean? Ultimately it was because of you that I am late. Not that I am hating it or something" she said with a mysterious smile
"Well, young lady, How do I put it before you? You see, time is a relative phenomenon, It moves faster when you are with a beautiful person and terribly slow when you are with someone you don't like. So its not really my fault that we didn't even notice the time fly by." he replied with a smile on his face.

"Well Viresh aren't we getting a little ahead of ourselves. Why generalize the rule when we can already use the existing rule. Don't you know time moves faster in the proximity of a body having a considerable mass, say YOU" and all of us burst out laughing before heading back for the hostel amidst the street lights-lit yellowish fog swirling all around us

"Time dilation is the phenomenon whereby an observer finds that another's clock, which is physically identical to their own, is ticking at a slower rate as measured by their own clock. This is often interpreted as time "slowing down" for the other clock, but that is only true in the context of the observer's frame of reference. Locally (i.e., from the perspective of any observer within the same frame of reference, without reference to another frame of reference), time always passes at the same rate. The time dilation phenomenon applies to any process that manifests change over time."

Why this name?

slick /slik/ n. 1. A slippery smoothness
2. A magazine or a book printed on good quality paper

Okay, So there are mainly two reasons why I ended up with the name "slick fiction"
a. I am still in awe of the last movie that I watched. Don't exactly remember its name, it was Pulp something!!
b. The blog address pulpfiction was already taken

So here I am stuck with 'slick'. Isn't it slick?

It
is my first day so I started by looking up Blogging ethics. The first result was this article http://www.cyberjournalist.net/news/000215.php

What I got from the article was that a Blogger's code of ethics do exist.
  • Be honest and fair - If you borrow(steal) someone's work at least label the work as stolen and before lying let others know that you are a big fat liar
  • Minimize harm - The key word being minimize, as if harm is inevitable
  • Be accountable - Stand up for what you've done/written/stolen even if its not really your idea and you merely copied to make your blog look 'fuller'
I think its better to accept the truth and here i present a 'modified' code of ethics
  • Pretend to be honest and fair, even if you are not
  • Pretend that you wished to cause minimum harm even if you just killed someone
  • Be accountable and stand up for what you've written/stolen or claim that you were drunk last night.
Happy Blogging to me :-)
