Slave?

Technology has ruined me & the irony is that I'm blogging about it!!
I have decided that I'll dispose of my existing computer. And by dispose I don't mean this

I'll just leave it at my home. And I won't get a computer/laptop after joining (at least for the first 6 months or so), and will try to rediscover things that could be done without excessive interference of technology like,
learn to swim, play guitar (I had started when I was in school but didn't go at it for very long, the old guitar still adorns my room ), read a lot (just like I used to, a long time ago), get an awesome camera and try my hand at photography.

Plus being out of Varanasi means that I can watch Hollywood movies in English in theaters as soon as they are released, and not in some crappy dubbing (Watch dubbed Spiderman 3 to get my point).

PS: I won't become a hermit though, I'll still have a computer in the office, right? =)

  1. Commendable thoughts!!
Funny thing, I was looking at one of your comments on 'First Year':

    "Bina compu can't imagine life."

I guess, CHANGE is the 6 lettered sweet crux of life :)

  2. You have made a strong resolution. I hope you can see the end of it. I think technology is just another means in our journey. The idea is its good so long it doesn't become 'the only means'.
    Good luck

    1. Commitment: No computer/laptop for 6 months
Progress: Dont know the exact date when you got it but remember the talk the other day that you were the first one to get it among us.
    2. Commitment: Learn swimming
Progress: Unless you have a pool at your cubicle (or your managers cabin :P) I don't see this happening any time soon.
    3. Commitment: Play guitar
Progress: No guitar bought(was also one of your plans while still in Mandava) and well today only we tried our hands at the 4 stringed one so well you technically have played it.
    4. Commitment: Read a lot
Progress: Catcher in the rye + Alchemist. Have i missed out something
    5. Commitment: Photography
Progress: No camera. No photography. No awesomeness
    6. Commitment: Hollywood movies in theaters
Progress: Did I hear it wrong when you were trying to persuade me to see a telegu movie in a theater ??
